You can buy a nice "Refurbished" card for $3.99 from
    <http://www.belkin.com>. Look under "Refurbished Parts".

Did the built-in Ethernet go bad?

Yes, I seems so. Son's girl took the 3400 to her last semester at Purdue
cause her PC bit the dust. She shares an appt. with 3 other girls and
the appt. has Noment.com internet. She can not get an IP address from
the connection while the other girls can on her wall plug-in. Have tried
several different things and it seems to come down to the built-in
ethernet. The internal modem has also been less that perfect of late and
the modem and ethernet are on the same Asante card in the 3400.

thanks for the help and your time......Rich
