PDF-file breaks zoom
Once again, I turn to the Adobe forum for help. :)
I've been editing som older PDF-files in order to use them for our company website.
They exhibit some strange behaviour, though.
I've managed to knock most of these kinks out of them, however 1 remains...
When zooming in on the file (from it's webpage link or directly on the machine) if you then move the mouse, the whole thing zooms out again!
I think this may have something to do with the most prominent feature of each page which is a picture of different fittings.
It seems like this picture is clickable (cursor turns to the pointy-hand when over it) but nothing happens when I do click.
Also, this "click feature" cannot be removed via Acrobat, it seems? I can't highlight it with the link-tool, nor the "Select Object" tool, and I have no idea how to remove it...
And, as I mentioned earlier, I'm not even sure that's the problem here...
I'm pretty much at my wit's end as to what to do, so any suggestions / help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Lennart Gustavsen

Re: PDF-file breaks zoom
Go to Tools > Advanced Editing > Select Object Tool and double click on it with that. That should expose what the object is. If you single-click on the object with this tool it should be able to be deleted.
I have to say it does sound like it is a link.
Another thing you can check is the PDF version. Is this an Acrobat 7.0 or higher PDF? PDF 1.6? You can go to File > Document Properties and in the General tab you should be able to see the PDF version. (The behavior you're seeing is similar to the way the object in question would act if it is a 3D object, except that once you click on it you should be able to interact with a 3D annotation).

Re: PDF-file breaks zoom
Dear sws,
Thank you for your swift reply.
I am sorry it has taken me this long to answer you, but it's been a crazy week. :)
Your 2 ideas unfortunately yielded no results - the Select Object Tool does nothing whatsoever to allow me to edit whatever is there,
and the PDF version is 1.6 (Adobe 7.x)...
Nor does the link tool or any other I could think of to try. :(
I appreciate this may be hard to diagnose simply by me describing it, so if you feel you wish to see what happens please do the following:
1) Go to www.lgbeslag.dk
2) Hover over the light-green button that says: "Slots & ..."
(The page is unfortunately in Danish)
3) Choose the bottom-most option (Knopper - Porcelæn)
4) In there you will find a link to the file in question
Thank you very much for your help so far!
Regards,

Re: PDF-file breaks zoom
Lennart,
The object in question is a button, and its actions are set to Mouse Enter > Execute a Menu Item > Fit Page
If the page is zoomed in, moving the cursor over the image fits the page in the Viewer Window.
Go to Tools > Advanced Editing > Select Object Tool. Double-click on the image. This will open the "Button Properties" dialog. click on the "Actions" tab. Inside this window you can delete the action.
All better.

Re: PDF-file breaks zoom
Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your reply, which I again have been shamefully slow in responding to. I hope you will forgive that. :-)
I regret that what you tell me to do does absolutely nothing when I try it. I am 100% sure you're right in what you tell me, but nothing happens when I try.
When I select the Select Object Tool, the 2 buttons to the left of the PDF-file are marked with a red square around them which I can then double-click and change at will.
However, no such thing happens for the picture in the middle.
This is probably somehow my own fault, but as you have probably guessed, I'm not genius at this PDF stuff.
Is there some way I could have disabled this option?
I have 7.0.1 - do I need something newer?
Or do I "just" have to reinstall Adobe Acrobat or something?
I hope you can help me once more!
Regards,
Lennart Gustavsen
