PDF file size issue
I've created two separate versions of the same basic 400 page file in Quark. The first uses a single 700K eps file 3 times on each page and creates a 700+ meg postscript file. The second uses a 200K tif version of the same artwork and creates an almost 300 meg postscript file. Nothing abnormal yet.
When I distill them both (with the same settings), the postscript file with the eps images create a pdf file approx 100 meg. The version using the tif file creates a pdf file of 568K. It seems like the second PDF only stores the graphic once.
I have used no OPI settings in Quark, as evidenced by the postscript file size. What settings control this behaviour.
Thanks

Re: PDF file size issue
Distller has Preserve XObjects which can replicate the same image
effectively over a large number of pages provided its in the same XY
position.
Check you DO NOT have the OPI option in Distiller/Advanced/DSC/
Other than that - not sure why one format is much larger, is there any
specific colour space the larger file is stored in?
