Default PDF from Web Page -- Arial Only

    Hi,

I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out why, when I create a PDF from a web page using "Create PDF from Web Page" in Acrobat 7.08, the only font that ever shows up in the document is Arial.

I set the font settings for HTML and TEXT documents on the PDF from Web page floating window, but the fonts never show up in the PDF. I have undone any and all font management and still only Arial. I have tried different types of web pages with the same result. I've searched around here and the web and it seems like it's working for everyone else.

So what could I be doing wrong? When I look in the Document Properties occasionally other fonts are listed, but the html text only comes out in Arial. Any help is appreciated.

I just tested and have no problem getting Times Roman as my body text font on the New York Times front page.

You might remove the Acrobat WebCapture Preferences in this location and see if it help:

    Users > [yourname] > Library > Preferences > Acrobat > 7.0 > Acrobat WebCapture Prefs

Don't know if that'll fix it, but worth a try.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for taking the time to run a test. I now think the problem I am running into involves the fact that if html text is not coded as "body text" or "heading" (h1, h2, etc.) it will not appear in the typeface selected in the preferences. So, basically, any site that uses a CSS with custom names appears "as is." When I ran my test on the NYT front page, the H5 headings changed into the font I had chosen, but things coded (via CSS) as "byline" etc did not.

Sadly, the code for Acrobat Web Capture is getting long in the tooth. It's not keeping up with CSS standards, unfortunately, and it's doing worse and worse as websites are modified.
