Default PDF into spot color seps... Help please???

    Need advice.

I was given 4 PDF documents whose pages total 26 pages. The documents have two colors, blue and black, the PDFs were created from Word. My boss hands me the files and wants to know if I can separate the blue from the black, i.e., spot blue and black (needs two plates), problem is, is that its a four color type of deal, there is no spot color in the PDFs.

What can I do to separate these out into two colors? (or can it even be done?)

    I would appreciate any ideas.

If you want to separate spot plates, you need to have spot plates. No
separation tool I know of will directly separate RGB onto spot plates.

HOWEVER, it is possible you might be able to use the cyan plate as a
blue plate in this particular case.

Yup, that's what I've come to. Not perfect by any means, but I guess it'll have to do.
