    Default pdf margin limit?

I have been able to produce pdf versions(Acrobat 4.0) of documents that I have created in FrameMaker 6(OS9-G4) and am pleased with the results. And I thank the user forum for help in getting me there. The secret was to choose Adobe PS as the printer which , in turn, had Create Adobe PDF file as the printer. Now I simply print the FrameMaker document to the PS printer and a few seconds later the pdf file appears. The PressOptimized file does a great job on the resolution of the graphics. The fonts are true, although they appear slightly smaller and the colors are quite acceptable. However, it cuts off the top 1.5 cm(5/8”) of the landscape oriented document (and perhaps the bottom as well). The paper size is set for 8.5x11. I tried to tried to trick the software by specifying the paper size as 8.875x11 but nothing changed. Is there a margin limit for pdf documents?

I think you meant, Acrobat 6 and earlier, Jon.

Acrobat 7 and later supports larger page sizes.

Is there a margin setting in the EPS reader or Distiller? The margins are fine in FrameMaker. I have tried to find margin specifications in the other two steps but came up empty.

I appreciate your interest Jon (and Leonard).

    Fred,

I do not have Acrobat 4 on any of my computers anymore, but it was
capable of printing at the exact size. Are you sure you do not have a
setting in the print dialog box that resizes the document to fit the
printer margins. The name it has been called has changed with nearly
each version so I cannot tell you what it is called in version 4.
