Default PDF optimizer--help with audit space usage

I am trying to optimize a pdf with the audit space usage option. 70% of my file is taken up by something called "x object forms". Does anyone know what this means and how I can reduce it? THANKS--Karen.

Form XObjects are just another kind of page content. They are
typically (but not only) used for things that appear more than once,
    to save space.

It suggests the file is full of text and line art which cannot reduce
    further.

There are ways to reduce PDFs containing text and line art as well. PDF Optimizer in Acrobat does a few things, 3rd party products do much more.
