PDF options keep disappearing in Print menu in Acrobat 7

I admin about 50 Macs with Acrobat 6 Professional and non of them have had this problem - except my own Mac running Panther. I leave my computers on 24/7.

This problem has been with me for many months spanning several updates to Panther. I have repaired permissions, cache cleaned, and whatever else Cocktail has to offer dozens of times. Reinstalled Acrobat too.

This problem is strange. I can often make one PDF and "PDF Options" will be there. After that "PDF Options" will be missing. I have a few times done the OS X maintenance rigamarole trying to correct this and given up. If I walk away from the computer for several hours the "PDF Options" may have returned.

I have a couple of times given up trying to get "PDF Options" back and gone to bed, only to return in the morning and the "PDF Options" is back!

Now at one client site of about 15 users I upgraded them to Acrobat 7 Professional. One of the users now has this problem. One day it will be fine, the next day he can make a single PDF and "PDF Options" will be there only to disappear. Hours or days later "PDF Options" will mysteriously return.

I have encountered the exact same problem. It is not a system version problem nor an acrobat version problem (I am using acrobat 6 and OSX 10.4.11, but have this problem with different set-ups too.

Until last night, I have been able to keep my options all the time, but I ran into a scratch disk error while creating a pdf. The print function froze and I had to do a Force Quit. When I restarted... I had lost the print options!

Hopefully this sheds some light, and asists with someone providing a solution.
