Hello.
I'm working on a document (in Quark 4) with a "fake duotone" (ie. a b&w TIF colourized [using a spot colour] in Quark). When I print from Quark to my b&w laser printer, it prints within a minute. But, when I create a postscript file (following Creo standards for prepress PDF creation) and then use Distiller (v7) to create a PDF (using any setting including PDF/X-1a, adobe presets and my own custom settings), the resulting PDF takes forever (almost 10 minutes) to print. I'm pretty sure this is a result of the "fake dutone" using a PMS because if I convert that PMS to a CMYK colour, rip the PDF and hit print it again only takes up to a minute.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a way around it (other than converting the colours to CMYK)?
Regards,
Kristin.
