PDF to Autcad DWG
Our Autocad Detailing Dep't frequently downloads vendor drawings in PDF format. Our Graphics department uses Illustrator to export PDF to DXF (with some tweaking) and voila! we get to use the vendor drawings directly in Autocad. However, the constant stream of requests for these conversions interrupts the graphics workflow - is there a 3rd party app/plugin, etc. which we can download/purchase that does only this conversion (as opposed to buying the whole Illustrator package just to accomplish this one task)?
Thanks!

Re: PDF to Autcad DWG
Michael,
I doubt there is such an animal, unless AutoCad will open PDF files itself. Illustrator will do it as it's format base is now PDF to begin with and Illustrator will export to DXF.

Re: PDF to Autcad DWG
Michael,
You could give our (commercial) pdf2vector software a try. It was expressly developed as a dedicated batch conversion tool for technical (vector) graphics, and now also offers DXF output for use in CAD applications like AutoCAD. The DXF output is in late beta, so the best way to test this is to send me a couple of sample PDF files via email for testing, as you receive them. I'll send you back the DXF files for review, along with further info about the product and licensing.
