PDF to HTML
I have just noticed that sometimes if your search on Google pulls back a PDF
you get an option to read it as HTML. Is this possible with ColdFusion as it
would be very useful especially from the accessibility stand point.

Re: PDF to HTML
Not out of the box, but you could probably hook in a PDF to HTML converter
in to CFMX real easily if it was written in Java.
You can go the other way - view HTML as PDF - with CFMX 7.

Re: PDF to HTML
Have you considered making your PDF files properly accessible instead?

Re: PDF to HTML
The problem with going to HTML is that HTML is for suggesting layout,
while PDF gives it exactly. The layout not only must change, but will
change according to the user's browser and their settings. This is not
always practical.
Also, if the PDF file contained any flow more complex than a page at a
time, top to bottom (e.g. columns, captions), you will still have to
put a lot of work into making the HTML accessible, work that might as
well have been done on the PDF. Or, at least, perhaps. I haven't
actually done it.

PDF to HTML
I'm not sure what section of the Acrobat forum is appropriate for this question, please forgive me if I'm not posting in the right area.
We have a need to extract the contents of a growing set of stored PDF documents and turn them into HTML containing all images, charts and embedded spreadsheets at their locations in the document. It's OK if the charts and spreadsheets become images in the process. This would be something done programatically on a server in a daily batch.
As an example, I think you've seen how Google does it - where a PDF turns up in search results and you can "view as HTML"
We're seeking a consultant knowledgeable in the PDF file format who can help guide us to create a process that will do this. You can email me at ginodeyoung@gmail.com, or I'll check in here for responses.
Many thanks,
Gino
