Default PDF toolbar not compatilbe with MS Word

After unchecking the PDF toolbar, or moving it to another location on the screen, it always reappears at it's original location.

I want it to go away. The toolbar is very Microsoft-like as it forces the user to deal with it
at every launch of MS Word.

I would like to delete it from the toolbars folder in Office, but I would like to have it's utility.
I just want it to behave like the other MS toolbars.

    Any suggestions would help.

Default Re: PDF toolbar not compatilbe with MS Word

    Thank Adobe for this one.

On OS 9 the PDFMaker can make Word take 5 minutes or more to startup.

Even though it doesn't slow down OSX versions of word its useless it will get about 80% through processing and then die.

    here is the permanent cure.

do a find file from Finder and type in PDFMaker or PDF Maker.

Locate three items that end in dot. notice where they are.
There should be one for Word, one for Excel, and one for PowerPoint.

go to each of the folders they where they are located and do the following:

Create a folder and make the name exactly the same as the file. (Letter for letter, space for space, period (or dot) for period. (Even Capitalization counts.)

now move the offending file to trash. and add your dummy folder.
(on the Mac platform you have never been able to overwrite a file with a folder or folder with a file.)

repeat for Excel and PowerPoint now the offending self-healing code will never be able to recreate this "thing" ever again.
