PDF touched by Acrobat 6, BLANK SECOND PAGE if opened IE browser Reader 5
Anybody have Acrobat/Distiller 6.01 settings that will allow a pdf
saved with:
Document Properties > Initial View > Bookmarks Panel and Page
to open correctly in the Reader 5 browser plug-in (within Internet
Explorer)?
I have noticed the second page is typically blank, plus others may be
missing.
**IF YOU ARE MAKING/DISTRIBUTING PDFS, YOU MAY BE UNAWARE OF THIS
PROBLEM!**
Of course everything works ok using Reader 6 browser plug-in in IE,
but I think it is NOT ACCEPTABLE to ask everyone to install Acrobat
Reader 6 to solve this problem...btw, in Acrobat 6 I *am* specifying
Acrobat 5 (or even 4) compatibility. Also, I know that this problem
does not exist if initial view is set just to page (without
bookmarks), but this *is a requirement*.
The only workaround I have found to date is to use another PC running
Acrobat 5 to open and re-save the Acrobat 6-prepared pdfs...lame,
lame, lame!
