Pushing a pdf past the print realm and using swf files, .mov and .wmv files.

I've noticed that both Acro6 and Acro7 seem to be 'iffy' sometimes when choosing to link to media from a webserver.

SWF can only be used for Acrobat 6 and above and .mov can either be linked to (ver 5 and later) or embedded in 6 and later.

However, I'm getting different results when using Flash files that have actionscript. I've *found* that if I do have any actionscript within the swf file embedded, I have to use a gotoAndStop(); and set it to the last frame.

That coupled with having to publish for Flash 5 and then within Acrobat choosing Renditions that only include Page Enter and various clicking states.

Does anyone else have any tips they've found when placing swf and mov files that are to be linked from a webserver?

We're using a company with SVG tech (www.texterity.com) and per their instructions, we can't embed...just link to. That's fine as they will hook it all up, but for my own testing and linking to files residing on a server, I have different results doing the same steps: placing a file with the movie tool and then setting the action, rendition and entering the URL.

It just seems to always be a little different: sometimes Acrobat generates an error, sometimes I have to click on the object (even when an Enter page action is set) and other times it works.

Anyone with any ideas?

Thanks
