PDFs print with screened black text
I just sent an entire book to a commercial printer. It prints 1 color (black), text only--no art. The printer reported that the text in PDFs are printing at about 92% black. Tests on my laser printer confirm this. The files were printed to Postscript first, then distilled. Further testing with numerous changes in the print dialog (incl "Text prints black" checked) have had the same result. I've also tried exporting to PDF, but the results are the same--screened black text. What have I missed? I've checked the doc prefs, etc. (I'm using ID CS2 v 4.0.2 on a Mac running X 10.4.) Thanks to all who reply.
