PDFs will not print to Epson Stylus Photo 890?

I'm running OSX Panther and Acrobat 6.0.3 Professional. Every time I send a PDF to print on my Epson 890 the printer locks up and will not print. The printer works fine when printing other files (Word, e-mail, web pages, Excel, Quicken reports, etc.) but consistently freezes when I send a PDF (any PDF to print). It does not seem to effect my Mac, but stops the printer with the PDF file in the print queue. To then use the printer to print anything other than a PDF I must delete any file in the queue, unplug the printer from the power for 15 seconds and then send the non-pdf file to print. I've talked with Epson tech support and they claim there are no known issues with the driver, so now I'm hoping a solution via Adobe.

Any advice would be appreciated.
