You'll need a WAP, which is basically a wireless router or hub. Far as I know, there is no wireless equivalent of a crossover cable. You'll have to... -

Re: Peer to peer network problem.
check the hardware settings such as nic, switch and hub. for example
configure the computers' network cards for half duplex.
