permission extension

Where can I find the dreamweaver extension that allows me to change permissions of files I need to upload??? - Ive searched everywhere!

You can do that from an FTP application like FileZilla. Just get in the
server right click and choose Unix Commands followd by clicking the right
permisions. If the files are on your local computer I guess you can do
that from File Manager using the properties dialog.

Go to the exchange:
[url]http://www.macromedia.com/exchange/[/url]

And do a search for:
set permissions

Two of the results will be what you're looking for, if you have DWMX2004, grab the appropriate version, if you have DWMX then grab the one that doesn't list the DW version.

I tried going to the exchange and looking but couldnt find it - plus there was
no facility for me to directly search that area... If anyone can give me a
direct link to the download I would be very grateful!

There is a link to search the exchange on the right hand column. You can even filter the search to the Dreamweaver exchange should you need it.
