Default Phantom objects in EPS files opened in Photoshop

I created a logo in Illustrator 10 and saved it as an EPS. When I open the file in Photoshop, a white box appears in the upper right corner of the transparent background. There is no clipping mask or object of any kind that I put there, yet it continues to appear. I have tried saving the file in Illustrator CS as well...same thing happens. Where does this "phantom object" come from and how can I get rid of it?

    Greg,

Try: OBJECT, SAME, Stry Points, then DELETE.

Did that already. There was one stray point that I deleted, but the phantom object was in a different part of the image and was still there when I opened it in Photoshop.

I did find and delete a stray point, but that didn't solve the problem. What DID solve it was making another clipping mask that followed the outline of the entire logo...not just a box around it. What was happening was that there is .6" added around each object with a Gaussian blur. That doesn't show up unless the file is saved as .EPS (instead of .AI) and then opened in Photoshop. Hmm... Not sure why that is, but at east I now know how to fix it. Thank you for your help.
