Photographs
Hi ive recently been asigned to produce a number of "glossy" brochures. I am having trouble in getting my hands on free/reasonably priced, copyright/royalty free photos.
The work i am doing is for commercial use, I have been able to get a hold of a couple of CD's at a reasonable price but most I simply cant afford. If anybody has any ideas or could point me in the right direction it will be most appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

Re: Photographs
Ben,
We just purchased a year subscription to www.photos.com for $299. (special offer, may be more now.) They have a decent selection of high-res photos for download. A subscription gets you unlimited downloads of three different sizes of picture. The highest size is still pay, however. They work for most projects unless you're looking for very large sizes. It's not as cheap as istockphoto (I love them, too), but if you download a ton of photos, the price per photo can get really really low!

Re: Photographs
If you really want to do it on the cheap, you can get a 1 week pass at
clipart.com for $12.95. They have lots of junk, but the occasional decent
pic. We've used them for mainly their clipart for years. Most of their
photos are fairly low rez, but will do if you're not going beyond 3"x4" or
so...

Re: Photographs
You can buy a box of royalty free pictures at just about any store that sells software pretty cheap but the pro to the suggestions already posted is you'll find new (unused) material on the web sites.

Re: Photographs
Ben already knows about these two but I thought I would share in this forum. These sites are too good for anyone to miss:
<http://www.morguefile.com/>
<http://www.sxc.hu/>
These are free photos, suitable for most any use.
