Did you try deleting the Elements preference folder? Always give that a try before an uninstall/reinstall for problems like this. It's a good first step at troubleshooting when something that used to work properly quits working.

With Elements closed, click on the start up icon and then make a very quick grab for (on Win) the Control, Alt, and Shift keys. For a Mac that would be Command, Option, and Shift. Hold all three down until you get a screen asking if you want to delete the Settings. Say Yes, and a new Preference folder will rebuild as Elements continues to open.

If this doesn't work, repost and let us know. Good luck!

I am having the very same trouble that was posted by David Gies. Was there a resolution?

If there was, Carol, he didn't post. Have you tried the suggestion of deleting Preferences?

People also have to remember that uninstalling the software doesn't remove that Preference folder automatically. A separate Find has to be done to get rid of it. Left on the computer, it can mess up the efforts to reinstall, too.
