Photos in Acrobat
A 5.3 meg Word document converted to pdf resulted in a 124K file. I saw that the photos weren't as sharp; maybe that's why the file is so much smaller. But I want them as sharp as in the Word document. How can I keep a high resolution?

Re: Photos in Acrobat
Change your conversion settings so that the images are not downsampled or compressed - experiment to get results you find satisfactory.

Re: Photos in Acrobat
I am as embarrassed as I can be to be asking this, but . . . I can find no conversion settings except in the Distiller for working with PostScript files. I have seen instructions for using a PDF Maker dialog box and a Settings box, but for the life of me I can't find these anywhere using Acrobat's toolbar.I know this has to be simple, but . . . I'll blame it on being Monday.

Re: Photos in Acrobat
Never mind! I found it. It's not in Acrobat at all, but in the Microsoft Word toolbar (now, why wouldn't they put it in the Acrobat toolbar as well?!?).

Re: Photos in Acrobat
Not sure about the Acrobat toolbar feature you want. Once you are in Acrobat, the down sampling is already done and there is nothing you can do to correct it. The down sampling that was being discussed was in the Distiller printer. The changes you make in PDFMaker just select subsets of the distiller/distiller printer properties. Actually that menu is primarily for setting the markup that PDFMaker adds and not for the resolution.
The resolution issues are found in the print driver features (Acrobat Distiller printer for AA5) and/or in Acrobat Distiller itself.
