    Default photoshop

I am trying to drop in an psd image into a new file page.
the new file is large 4000X4800 pixels for the sake of printing on a medium format
    that is 20X24"
Yet I am unable to drop in the image it refuses to take it.
I have tried smaller size images, re creating a smaller size file, and still
it seems my file is partly locked! I have never encoutered this issue before how can I solve this problem?
    thanks

So what ARE the color modes? And are both 8-bit images? And is anything locked in either image? And exactly HOW are you trying to "drop" in the image?

    Ok
both are rgb, also 8 bit images. I am sure there is something locked since as I press on the locker icon on the layer colum it shows "partially locked"
except I do not know how to find the "lock" situation.
I just drag the image into the new file page. I need to do it this way since I am dropping several images into it to create a collage like art work.
    thanks

It shouldn't matter if a layer is locked because dragging the image in creates a new layer. Are you using the Move tool?

Do you get an error message? Some bit of info not here yet.

What Color Picker do you have selected? Is it Adobe or Apple? If Apple set it to Adobe and try.

    Otherwise maybe trash prefs?

Or is it locked in Get Info? Set to Read Only?
