Photoshop 7.0 doesn't always load fonts
I've noticed that occasionally when I open up a file that I've worked on previously in Photoshop I'll receive a message stating that Photoshop cannot locate the fonts used in the image. Since all my images were created locally, there should be no reason for missing fonts. I'll go look at my font list within Photoshop and sometimes I'll have about half of my normal 700 or so fonts, and sometimes I'll have about 60 or so generic fonts.
Restarting the computer has always resolved the issue, but is there a reason this is occuring? Is there any way to avoid it? It's an annoyance.

Re: Photoshop 7.0 doesn't always load fonts
I think the clue is "my normal 700 or so fonts" ...
These are eating all of your memory and this is Windows [rather than PS's] way of complaining. Nobody needs more than a couple of hundred [tops!] fonts online at any one time. A document with more than 3 distinct fonts is fundamentally flawed.
So, either get rid of lots that you don't need [you can keep them on hand, just not installed]. Or, if you are professional designer with a genuine need, get a tool [like Adobe Type Manager] to help you organize the chaos.
