How large is your VM swapfile? Did you put the swapfile on a separate partition? -

OK, I'll save you trawling the FAQs.
Try launching PS. Do it like this: click on the PS icon, then double click on it and immediately hold down SHIFT-CTRL-ALT. It should then invite you to delete prefs.
