Photoshop complains about missing pagefile!
I have 3 gigabytes of RAM on my computer. I have disabled pagefile (Windows XP Pro) because some programs use pagefile even when there's plenty of RAM available, and this is soooo slow.
On every launch, Photoshop 7 complains about missing pagefile, saying it is "dangerous" or something.
How do I disable this message??

don't do that. xp requires it. many programs (including photoshop) require it. bad move. if you want speed, set up a ram disk with that extra memory and put the pagefile there.

drivers and program code. You can change it in the registry.
<http://www.billssite.com/xptweak3.htm>
| [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session
| Manager\Memory Management]
|
| Disable Paging Executive
| This will prevent pages sections from RAM going to the hard drive.
| If you have a large amount of RAM at least 256Mb (I suggest 512)
| you might want to keep the data in your RAM to improve your
| performance considerably due to reduced amount of hard drive
| swappage. The entry that you will want to modify is called
| DisablePagingExecutive. Changing this from 0 to 1 will keep the
| data in your RAM.
|
| "DisablePagingExecutive"=dword:00000001
You can't as far as I know but you can define a small page file.> On every launch, Photoshop 7 complains about missing pagefile,

Some says that 128 MB is more than enough but that's not my
experience and therefore I can't recommend it.
The problems I've had in Win2000 and WinXP is described here:

Re: Photoshop complains about missing pagefile!
I've tried creating a ram disk. It decreases system performance. Not an option.
I've also tried enabling a small page file and preventing XP to use that page file with the registry.
This also (for some strange reason I don't know) decreases system performance, and utilizes the hard drive more.
Besides, these "many programs" that require page file... The only programs I've noticed complaining are Adobe products.
So, I'm ONLY interested in getting that "warning" to disappear. Is there any way I can rid of it???

The only way is to not run Photoshop.
