Photoshop CS Keywords not Transferring to Acrobat
When I save a Photoshop CS file as a Photoshop PDF, the Author & Description (or Subject in Acrobat) come through, but the Keywords don't. When I save files as a PDF though the File Browser, not only do the Keywords not transfer, but the Author & Subject/Description don't either. HELP!

Re: Photoshop CS Keywords not Transferring to Acrobat
The biggest issue is that when you save multiple files as PDFs through the File Browser in Photoshop (Automate/PDF Presentation), none of the Sidecar XMP info comes across. Not even the Author or Description/Subject.
If you save a single file from the Photoshop File Browser through Automate/PDF Presentation with keywords attached, they don't come across to Acrobat–UNLESS you go to File/File Info. Once you view the metadata here, all the info (Keywords, Author, etc.) come across–it's almost like viewing them in File/File Info cements them into the file or somethign. The keywords still don't come across under File/Document Properties, but the Subject and Author do. Also, even though these keywords should be attached to the document, when you run a search for any of the keywords, it comes up with zilch.
I am on a Mac running OSX.3.4 I was on the phone with Adobe for an hour today, and they said that "The keywords being part of the XML is not part of the workflow necessity." I think that's code for "I don't know."

Re: Photoshop CS Keywords not Transferring to Acrobat
The odd thing is the discrepency between the Advanced/Document Metadata
and the File/Document Properties.
Yeah, I found that odd as well.
none of the Sidecar XMP info comes across.
I would expect this. Acrobat doesn't know what a sidecar file is.

Re: Photoshop CS Keywords not Transferring to Acrobat
The Sidecar files are XMP files that are attached to the Photoshop file. They are reading part of the XMP (such as the Subject/Description plus the Author). According to Adobe's Help:
You can add metadata to files saved in Photoshop (PSD), PDF, EPS, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF formats. The information you add is embedded in the file using XMP (eXtensible Metadata Platform). XMP facilitates the exchange of metadata between Adobe applications and across publishing workflows.

Re: Photoshop CS Keywords not Transferring to Acrobat
Sidecar files are for camera raw images.
Sidecar ".xmp" files
Stores the settings in an XMP file in the same folder as the raw file with the same base name and an XMP extension. This option is useful for long-term archiving of raw files with their associated settings, and for the exchange of raw files with associated settings in multi-user workflows. These same sidecar XMP files can be used to store IPTC (International Press Telecommunications Council) data or other metadata associated with a camera raw image file. If you are opening camera raw files from a read-only volume like a CD or DVD, be sure to copy the files to your hard drive before opening them. The Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in cannot write an XMP file to a read-only volume and will default to writing the settings to the Camera Raw database file.
These XMP files can be viewed in the File Browser by choosing View > Unreadable Files.
Anyway, Acrobat is reading the metadata, it's just that Keywords are not being shown in Document Properties, which is in fact a bug.
Advanced>Metadata should show all the keywords

Re: Photoshop CS Keywords not Transferring to Acrobat
You are right—I just took the ACE for Photoshop and they are not called Sidecar XMP, I must have gotten them confused–just XMP. The XPM metadata should come over though through Keywords though from Photoshop to Acrobat.
