Photoshop files placed in Illustrator 10
I'm having a problem placing a high res. image from Photoshop 7 to Illustrator 10. I'm using mac OS 10.3.3. I thought it used to be that you could import native Photoshop files into Illustrator. Am I confused or did this change at some point? Now there is also no option to save as tif in Photoshop, so you are supposed to save as eps. However, I am having persistent problems preserving the quality of the Photoshop file once it is in illustrator. Now I have embedded the eps file in Illustrator, and it looks great on screen, but it prints very pixelated. I can't figure out where to specify the resolution of the the Photoshop file. Can someone help me out? Thanks,

Is the Photoshop file involved with transparency at all? If so changing the Document Raster Effects setting (under Effect) to 300ppi may help. Also you could try moving the Raster/Vectors slider to Vectors (Under Document Setup.)
