    Default Photoshop Rendered Useless

    This is completely beyond me.

I am using Photoshop 7.0, and today it decided to stop allowing me to open files using the menu. It just simply returns this error :

"could not complete Open command because of a program error".

I got rid of everything Photoshop on my computer, and re-installed the application, only to find that it is still giving me the same error.

I am using system 9.2.2, and don't have the luxury of upgrading my system AND my application, so I am hoping for some help here. It is a legitimate copy, and this error doesn't make any sense to me?

    Please somebody help me.

Thanks in advance for your time, everyone.

You have a choice--a computer that works or a room decoration with a firewall. Most people I know keep them turned off.

    Default Re: Photoshop Rendered Useless

    Francis,

First try trashing your Photoshop preferences (from the Preferences folder inside your System Folder) and rebuild your Desktop file (hold the Command and Option keys as you restart your computer and keep them down until you see the message asking you if you really want to rebuild the Desktop data base; click on OK).

Run Apple's Disk First Aid first, then DiskWarrior (if you own it) to make sure your disk is OK.

Come back and let us know if that does it or not.
