PHP form validation
can anyone recommend a good extension to validate fields using PHP (server side validation). I am looking at free or low cost solutions. (other than coding by hand).
thanks!

Re: PHP form validation
Hi,
There are several alternatives out there, you should check their live
demos to see the best value:
MX Form Validation $49
http://www.interaktonline.com/demos/formvalidation/contacts/new.php?form
Vdaemon validation $12
http://www.x-code.com/vdaemon/samples/registration_f.php
WA Validation Toolkit $99

Xserver Form validation $42
http://www.felixonedst.com/test/valtest.php
Yaromat Check Form MX - free
http://www.yaromat.com/dw/example/checkform.php
You should check the following:
a) does the extension do both server side and client side validation?
b) is the validation rule declared only once or are you forced to
declare it twice for client/server side?
c) is the validation library comprehensive?
d) is the generated code using CSS to highlight the validation error?
e) how good does the form looks like when errors are displayed?
f) is the validation usable (are the errors shown near the form field?)
or they are displayed separately and force the user search again for the
field in the form?
Good luck
