PHP-MySQL, which files to upload?
I am new to this but learning quick. I am using DW8 and have put together a
"log on" page in PHP/MySQL. I am working on a PC with XP pro and have tested
the page and database using XAMPP. It works fine on my computer. I have
identified three files that would be needed to be uploaded to my server to put
this into real use. These are the PHP file, a connection file, and the
database. I stuck the PHP file in htdocs, the connection file in a connection
folder, and the database in a mysql/data folder.
These appear to be the locations on my computer. The problem is it does not
work once it is loaded on to my server. The server is sql enabled. Does
anyone know if I am overlooking an additional file or have any other
suggestions that would help me make this work.
Thanks
Pete

Re: PHP-MySQL, which files to upload?
Perhaps that you might want to consider to buy this excellent book called, "PHP
for Dreamweaver 8" who authored by David Powers. When I say "excellent", I mean
it! *hands down*
This book discuss in depth, concise, obvious and precise steps to make it work
with PHP/MySQL around Dreamweaver 8. You won't be disappointed once you
purchase and use this book as reference and tool to build and develop
data-driven websites.
As for data-driven websites, this requires a depth of understanding how HTML,
many cases, CSS, to make it work.
Hope this help directs you to the right path and tip to your learning how to
use or working with PHP. Because there are lot of things involved associated
with PHP, MySQL and Apache web server, including how to set up and running
these open source apps. It is important that you understand how these work
together to make it work.
Let us know if you think it is a good suggestion or tip next time when you
post your message.

Re: PHP-MySQL, which files to upload?
In truth, data-driven sites/pages require NO understanding of CSS.
