Picassa on (K)Ubuntu AMD64? - Ubuntu

Has anyone gotten Picasa to run on (K)Ubuntu AMD64? I've tried, but so far n/g. It didn't want to install, complaining of not having the ia32-libs, but I confirmed that they are installed on my system, so I forced the Picasa install. The install seemed successful, but although the Picasa Media Director shows up in the Panel and the Picasa Wine server is loaded, the actual program will not come up. The Google-Linux Picasa web site says that it should work on 64bit Linux with the ia32-libs installed. Lance...

I've not tried. I did try picasa under XP and didn't like it.
I run digikam under kubuntu now and find it preferable.
    Have you tried digikam?
