You're probably seeing the cell overset indicator.

and when i scale the image...

Are you scaling up or down?

Once you paste an image into a table cell, it is subject to "inline" behavior, and the cell options settings. Re-check your cell options settings to ensure the cell will accommodate your image as expected. Also, if seem to have your image scaled correctly to fit the cell, but still see the overset indicator, check for a hard return following your image.

I am scaling up, so the image border goes beyond the cell. I was doing it in cs also but in cs2 it shows me the red dot.

Yes. Just now i visited my friend who has total training's indesign cs2 dvd workshop and in one lesson it says that this might happen and that this is a bug in program.

Well, you're the first to report it. I haven't seen it.

Are you sure you're following all the steps correctly?

Yes. But how can i be first to report it if ppl from total training are claiming it's a bug?

I suspect that the people from total training allowed themselves to be confused.

There are some limitations I've discovered about how large a graphic can be relative to the cell, but basically the feature works properly.

What settings do you have for:

    Cell insets.

    Cell Height and Width.

Paragraph Style holding the graphic, particularly the leading setting.

I think you might need to make that a fixed leading. The problem is that the cell can't contain the paragraph holding the image when you use Autoleading.

    Strange...
I'm trying to reproduce the alleged bug here, but as long as my cell contains no textual entry, (just an image), I can't get the overset indicator to show...almost no matter what I do!

    Image smaller than the cell...
    Image larger than the cell...
    Insets, 0p0-6p0...
    Clip contents to cell, on...off...
    No "red dot"

Miha, what are your "first baseline" settings? The only way I can get an overset is to set my first baseline minimum to a value greater than the maximum row height, and that would happen with or without an image.

I tried to use fixed leading but i still get overset. No matter how i change baseline still the same. Can you (John) upload your file?
