Piracy Protection for cd??
Hi all.
I was wondering if there is any Xtra ou similar item that can be added to a
Projector so that it cannot be duplicated/copied ?
I´ve just finished a recently non profit project for a school and some
nasties are looking to copy it and sell for a profit.
thanks =)

each installed copy is licensed, although none are absolutely perfect copy
protection mechanisms. You can't stop someone from physically copying any
software, all you can do is try to restrict whether or not people can
install and run it.
This is the opposite of what people usually need copy protection for. It> I´ve just finished a recently non profit project for a school and some

seems to me that these "nasties" have a flawed business model if they are
charging money for something you are giving away free. Perhaps you should
simply focus on letting people know the software is available for free (or
for minimal cost if you are charging for duplication, P&P, whatever). I
don't see how anyone trying to make a profit compete with someone who is not
trying to make a profit - unless you are charging money for it to cover your
costs and the pirates are undercutting your prices. Could you explain?

Re: Piracy Protection for cd??
This project was done by students for a particular contest in which the
school would benifit by receiving eduactional equipment (such as computer,
etc).
However the CD functions as a "brief" interactive encyclopedia of the people
from this region. The interest are of some of the visitors to the exibit how
what to copy and distribuite the CD for their own benifit.

copyright infringement. If it is a company selling the CD then the courts
generally take a dim view of that.
