Default pixelated eps graphic in pdf

hi all have an illustrator graphic that i have placed in an in-design document . this document has text formatted in it already. when i create a PDF (press quality) the text comes out fine, but the eps, when viewed at 100%, appears as if it is lo-res and all pixelated. when i zoom in extremely close and when i print, it is of hi-res quality. can anyone help as it is important that the graphic can be viewed properly on screen, not just when printed. thanks heaps

This might just be a viewing options which needs addressing - you did
not mention your Acrobat version but I will assume it is 5.0 since the
5.05 version had the 'smoothing as default.

    Go PREFERENCES/DISPLAY/
Now check on the 'Smooth images' and 'Smooth Line-art' options

    hi
i'm using acrobat 6 and now after some tweeking have got it looking a little better. the main issue now seems to be lines (.4) that are coming out looking jagged. is this due to them being thin do you think? have gone in and all the images and lines are 'smoothed' in the preferences boxes
    thanks

no. up close, everything is fine. things start to go jagged at 200% to fitting page in window. i'm just wanting for it to look smooth on opening as this file won't be printed as much as it will be viewed on screen.
    thanks once again

Hmm - I think you are out of luck then .... have you tried to increase
or decrease the rule thickness to see if this displays better?

yes. can't go too much thicker or thinner as this will lose the effect of the graphic. thanks for your help
