    Default Pixels

    Hello,

    Can somebody tell me what a good adjustment is for taking pictures with a 5
    Mpix camera, I don't see the differance in the fine, medium and economy
    mode.
    It's also possible to adjust the Pixel value, from 2560x1920 and for ex
    1600x1200. What is the best mode to take pictures and save some place on the
    CF card.

    Thanks in advance,
    Frank

    2. where are you seeing no difference -- in the LCD panel, computer monitor
    or printout?

    The LCD panel on the camera is not good enough to show you the diff;
    you should be able to see the diff on the monitor, depending on which
    application your using.

    I'd say it depends on how well you know your camera settings. How big are
    the saved files? Some of my jpegs:
    1600x1200 = 2 MB approx.
    2560x1920 = 5 MB approx.

    Another post mentioned this: if you take a picture at a low resolution,
    *nothing* you can do in software will make it look better than it is. Take
    it at the highest resolution your pocketbook can stand (it's not that bad,
    memory cards are cheap). You can always reduce the image for web or e-mail
    later. Purists save RAW or Fine JPEG.

    I "settled" on Fine image quality and Large resolution when I borrowed my
    wife's D100.
    File sizes are 2.5-3.1 MB. I print them at 8x10 and they look fine.
    For a job I shot, I set the camera to TIFF and Fine (the organization wanted
    "4 MB or bigger" files) -- 1504x1000 pixels, and file sizes were 4-5 MB.
    I just took a bunch of Fine Jpegs, and although the file sizes were smaller,
    the images were bigger (3 MB, 3008x2000 pixels).
