Placed Art
I am having trouble with placed tif files in my illustrator 10 document. I place a tif file, with the link box checked, and then I resize the placed art smaller to the size I need it. Everything looks nice and sharp onscreen. But when I print or make a PDF it comes out very blurry, almost as if the linked graphic was at 72 dpi. But I know this is not the case. What do you think is happening?

Re: Placed Art
Try embedding instead of linking, and see if you have the same problem.
If you must link, make sure the file is still correctly linked when you print. (Check in the links palette and make sure there isn't a ? by the file)
Also, what type of file is it linked to? If it's a dcs image, for instance, and you're printing the file as composite, it will probably give you a low-resolution preview instead of the high-resolution file when linked.
