Placed PDF in IDCS has randomly missing fonts

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I checked and they were all fully embedded. Curious...

Jon, if the pdf was created in 4D but I open it in my Acrobat Pro 7 and apply the "Send for Each Page" option and save the file will that work? Or do you think the person creating the pdf in the first place has to somehow make that prescription?

One more thing, I am not printing the pdfs from Acrobat but from InDesign as they are placed items. The "Send for Each Page" font option is apparently only under the Print command in Acrobat and not available as an option that can be saved in the file itself. Is that right?

If you are printing to a PDF file using the Adobe PDF printer then essentually, you are using Acrobat (or Distiller).

If you're using File>Print>Save as PDF, then you are using the Apple PDF engine.

Yes, you are right. When I finally print to pdf I am using Acrobat Distiller. But before I get to that point I just print the InDesign file to my local laser printer and for that I would just be using the placed 4D pdfs I think.
