Placing Word File with Graphics
I am trying to place a word file that had graphics into InDesign. When I place, everything comes through, but the graphics loose their placing.
My problem is that InDesigne will only let me move the graphics up and down, and not sideways. How do I unlock the placing of these graphics so that I can move them around after importing the word file, without having to re-place each graphic individually??

Re: Placing Word File with Graphics
The graphics have come in as inline graphics.
In general, it's a very bad idea to use Word placed graphics. They may be rendered at low resolution, and if in color, they're always RGB since Word doens't understand CMYK.
It's almost always a better idea to place the graphics separately in InDesign.

Re: Placing Word File with Graphics
Steve is right but he didn't answer your question.
How do I unlock the placing of these graphics?
without having to re-place each graphic individually??
Unfortunately for you, you have placed them as Steve said. As Inline. To get this fixed you will need to replace them. Click outside of the printable area using the selection tool then click File>Place and replace them.

Re: Placing Word File with Graphics
That's not really necessary if you're happy with the low res images that
you most likely got with the Word doc. Just cut them and paste them.
