player 8.5 difficulty

I downloaded and installed flash8.5 playerfor Windows Active X from
macromedia labs site
after this when right click on any flash content from any website.
Its not showing me flash player 8.5 in settings

I needed 8.5 to run my flex application
When I run application from flexbulider 2 I get the error as the flash player
found is of lower version and player 8.5 and above is needed
Please please help

but the highest version listed in the url provided by u is player 8
i need player 8.5 for Flex 2 and it is still beta that i got from lab site

I'm actually having the same problem when trying to install 8.5 player.
I've tried to load 8.5 several times and the setting keeps staying
with the older version 8.

I have had the same problem - When I loaded Flex 2.0, I had it upgrade my
plugins for both IE and Firefox. Problem is, while it works in Firefox, it
won't work in IE. I tried downloading the 8.5 plug in and Active X controls but
they don't work.

I think there is something wrong with the IE plug in.

I had to download and install the Flash Player uninstaller and remove the Flash
Player completely. Then, after installing Flash Player 8.5, it worked.
Apparently, installing over existing implementations is buggy.

even i tried this I made it worked for IE

upgrading the existing thing is buggy!
