Player buffering
Specifically when the player is used with Comcast.net home page and video news
-- the player intially buffers the video clips complete and plays through.
After five, six or seven (it varies) clips have run, the clips do not buffer
completely. It ranges from 10% to 80% buffer and the clip only plays that
long, then stalls and shows a still screen. Is there a cache issue? Any
suggestions?

Re: Player buffering
Assuming your looking at 'the Fan' news section...
You're probably going to have to take this one to Comcast. They most likely
serve their video via Flash Media Server (streaming media delivered via FMS
does not cache) and will need to research their content delivery.
But they could be serving them progressively as well, in which case they'd
cache. There's no simple way to tell. But if they were progressive, then
they'd be playing from your cache the second time they played. So generally
that -wouldn't- be an issue. Contact them and see what they say.

Re: Player buffering
Yes - it is the 'Fan'. When replaying a clip, the clip loads and replays
immediately -- suggesting that it has been cached. I will check with them
regarding delivery, just to be sure. I spent an hour on the phone with them
earlier today (of course I didn't know to ask them about delivery). However,
all systems looked good on their end. Also spent time on the phone with Dell.
I am using an Optiplex 170L : Pentium 4, 2.8GHz, 512MB RAM Windows XP Pro and
all systems seem to be a go. I'll keep digging!
