Playing Media Over LAN
Im a total linux newbie and just want some help on media players....
I have a windows box, which I have managed to access through ubuntu 5.10
on my laptop
basically I want to be able to play music that is on the windows box in
linux on my laptop
which media player would you guys reccomend i use to do this?
i also want to be able to play .pls files that come from the internet
love the look of XMMS, will this do what I want?

A while ago i used amaroK to access a windows-server. amaroK kept crashing
when accessing the samba-shares. So I moved the server to ubuntu.

winamp style player to work over a network though, rhythembox is a bit
bulky.....
is there anyway to get XMMS to work over a network

network. I believe it works in linux. The only bummer is
that it only plays one file at a time (no playlists). I have yet to
figure out how to play more than one.
