Please answer only if you know...
I buy a 6 user license pack of Contribute 3, Windows version. Then, I get the
Contribute 3 included with the Design Bundle for my Macintosh.
Can I now create six different sites for six different clients all of who for
I install one license of Contribute 3 on a machine to enable them to edit
their site?
Phone support has switched me back and fourth and the site isn't 100% clear
about this.
I'm guessing that as I do more sites for new clients, I need to purchase (they
need to purchase) more copies of Contribute to install on their own machines so
that they can actually edit their own sites.
Is this really just a watered down editor with built in FTP abilities? If so,
that's fine because it is easy, but we've been using a script called Content
Editable that is installed at the web server level and then end user just hits
a key stroke and edits whatever area we have deemed editable. No software
installed on the end users computer and it can be edited from any machine with
almost all browsers on both platforms.
Thanks for whatever insight one can give. The marketing sounded so good until
I (think) came across the notion that you must keep purchasing licenses for the
end client to actually edit the material. Thanks
