    Sounds as if he'd mean so called "Alternate Links", if you do
    'vgdisplay -v' on a HP-UX box you should see them, in case you
    are using redundant multipathing. Meaning the storage (SAN/etc)
    can be accessed over to independent links and the system should
    be able to perform a switch to the secondary path if the first
    should come unavailable for what ever reason automatically.

    The OP could start with 'man -k lvm' and check the HP-UX
    doentation about LVM.

    Yes, 'PV Links' is another term for 'Alternate Links' (redundant hardware
    paths) on HP-UX's LVM. These can be fibre OR scsi...
