Please someone help!!!!

Everytime i type text on a picture it turns the picture red. and then when i unselect the image it goes back to normal color but it automaticaly flatens the image and want let me edit the text or anything. why is this? someone please help me!

sounds like you are in index mode. Toolbar>image>mode, change to RGB. If that's not it then delete your preferences.
