Default Please Test This in FWMX 2004...

I'm having a problem creating a 1 pixel transparent spacer image in FW2004
    on Windows XP.

I have this routine that I go though when I'm building a new design and I
always need a 1 pixel spacer image. So, I always make a 1x1 slice and
optimize it so that it will export out as a 1 pixel transparent spacer
image. After using FWMX for a few days I noticed that my 1x1 slices do not
export with a transparency index unless I set the color palette to "Black
    and White."

Could someone test this out on their installation of FW 2004 to see if it
    happens to them as well?

Use a 1x1 slice, optimize it so that it will export out as a 1 pixel
transparent spacer image, export out the slice, and then open the exported
..gif to see if the transparency exists.

    :-) You don't even need to draw a slice. Next time, open a 1 x 1 pixel
transparent canvas and export it as a transparent GIF. You never see it,
but both Fireworks and Dreamweaver know it is there.

Hehe. I think it is so cool how people do things differently for the same
    task. = )

Just to throw in the mix on another approach. Use Dreamweaver to create the
    spacer....

    1. From the main menu select Edit>Preferences>
    2. Select "Layout Mode" in the category list
    3. Click the "Create" button and save.

Why recreate them every time. I just copy one from some other site.

Ohh well, I guess my fresh system is not liked by FW2004 (Although it does
    work in FWMX).

The DW thing is a great tip... I think that I'll use this technique from now
on (Since I cannot get FW to do it without a lot of work).

    > Wouldn't that be a copyright violation? :-)
Yes, it is. But since the original creator is myself, and since I've grown
weary of suing myself over the years (some of those punitive judgments are
ridiculous!), I just take it as the sincerest form of flattery and let it go
    as that.
