Re: PLS HELP A.S.A.P
Hey all,
Iam the webmaster to my institute and iam making the website for the same. Iam
stuck in the similar problem of resolution. the webpages are perfect in
1024x768 resolution but all the contents go out of place when seen in 800x600
resolution.I know the logic behind this getting right, that is i've create a
table of resolution 800x600 and then fit all the contents into it(i hope it is
correct) but this is not helping any how!!!
Anyone could pleaase help me out in this as this is supposed to be my project
to the institute and it is very important to me.
Please find the code attached....

Re: PLS HELP A.S.A.P
The best practice is to use flexible tables for layout
By using this method, Keeping all Elements either minimum or maximum size
with only the areas or elements that always have a fixed size (Measured or
by percentage), you can acheive highly resizable pages with little or no
scripting at all.
This only applies to documents using loose DTD because strict does not
implement 100% height for tables.
Here is an example of a page layout with fixed footer and header but with a
resizable content area.
This method can be applied to inner tables in each area.
I recommend not using rowspans or colspans. This will make the scalability
(ie adding areas) harder.
Although tables reduce performacem using simple tables for layouts is
negligable even if you are using 10-20 small table per page.
<style>
BODY
{
Margin: 0px;
Overflow: Auto; /* Removes scrollerbar place holder */
}
.Maxed
{
width: 100%;
Height: 100%;
}
..ScrollerBox
{
width: 100%;
Height: 100%;
Overflow: auto;
}
#PageHeader,
#PageFooter
{
Height: 50px;
}
#LogoArea
{
Width: 1px;
/* In a non-fixed table layout (CSS) the TD will not actually be able to
reduce to this size and occupy the size if the content. Since the table is
100% width the other td's will fill in the rest */
}
</style>
<table style="">
<tr>
<td id="PageHeader">
<!-- This area is fixed -->
<table class="Maxed">
<tr>
<td id="LogoArea">
<!-- Logo Image Here -->
<img src="logo.gif" />
</td>
<td>
Page Title
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td id="PageContent">
<div class="ScrollerBox">
this area is dynamically sized and will scroll if
neccecary.
<img border=1 height=300 width=300><!-- try resizing the
window to see effect -->
</div>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td id="PageFooter">
This area is fixed too
</td>
</tr>
</table>
