Plug-in folder for Acrobat (mac)
I need to install a plug-in for a scanner. Apparently, I need to put this plug-in the plug-in folder. I wasn't able to find such a folder anywhere on my system, so I created one. I put it first in the Acrobat folder in the Application folder, but it didn't work. So I put in the Adobe folder in the application support folder in the library folder, but again Acrobat didn't find it. The user manual simply speaks of a "plug-in folder" but it doesn't say where this damn folder is located.
So where is the plug-in folder, and if it's not created by default, where am I supposed to put it?

Re: Plug-in folder for Acrobat (mac)
I would have thought this would be the TWAIN folder ?
This is where Acrobat will look for compliant scanning drivers ..

Re: Plug-in folder for Acrobat (mac)
Thanks, I would have never found this out by myself...
That said, I installed the plugin, but Acorbat still doesn't find it. I kow the plugin works, because I have tried it with with Word and Graphic Converter.
So, what am I am missing now?

Re: Plug-in folder for Acrobat (mac)
Acrobat only recognizes TWAIN plugins, not Photoshop. Make sure the plugin is TWAIN.

Re: Plug-in folder for Acrobat (mac)
A Plug-in requires a handshake that is known to the application. Each company usually has its own API (Application Program Interface).
As suggested by Larry:
There is a TWAIN format which is recognized by Acrobat and some other applications.
There is a Photoshop format which is recognized by Graphic Converter and some others.
The Plug-in that works for Graphic Converter would not work with Acrobat.
Check out your scanner distribution and see if there is another Plug-in associated with TWAIN and try that.

Re: Plug-in folder for Acrobat (mac)
Sorry, just checked Graphic Converter, it will do Photoshop and TWAIN.
The above suggestion still stands.
