    Laura,

    If an indexed GIF doesn't really do your image justice, have you considered keeping it a PNG. Although, as you noted, not all browsers will recognize it, only those of very much older machines or "different" browsers would be in that catagory and the number of people you'd lose would be pretty small. PNG has been around now for some number of years. It's like someone not being able to see a FLASH insert anymore. They miss a lot.

    Is that right? PNGs are widely used now? If that's the case, I'll flock back to that immediately. Thanks, Bob.

    And Barbara? Where would I get that Hoefler text you mentioned? Is it a free font?

    Thanks! I got the Hoefler ornaments. None of them actually works for me in quite the way I need, but I'm sure I'll find other ways to make use of them. I'm a sucker for dingbats. <g>
