Today my CF server started generating an odd error every time the server tried
to process a Verity request. The error message was:

An error occurred while performing an operation in the Search Engine native
library.

coldfusion.tagext.lang.CFSearchTagException: Error # -125 Error E0-1401 (): ..

I searched google and couldn't find any solutions to this problem (I did find
sites that had a cache of the error message when google indexed them).

What I first tried doing was deleting all of the verity collections and
recreating them. I was able to delete them, but when I tried to create them
again, I got that error message again. Eventually I went on the FTP server to
make sure all of the verity collection folders were removed. I noticed that
one of the folders was still there and when I tried to delete it, I was unable
to because the CF service was using the folder. I stopped the service, removed
the folder, and then restarted it. I was then able to re-create, re-index, and
search the verity collections normally again.

Hopefully this will help someone in need someday.
